The notes I keep,

They make me weep.

I take one peek,

And then lose sleep.

My life’s indeed

A sorry breed,

Knowing how deep

In debt I’ve been.

The bills I need

To pay it seems

Will make this week

A time to flee.

The only means

That I can see

Is dig so deep

A grave for me.

And when I meet

My God in peace,

Then I can leave

The notes I keep.
